Apollo, in love with the visionary Sibyl, promised to fulfil her every wish. The girl asked to live as many years as the grains of sand that could be hold in a fist. Apollo fulfilled her desire, nevertheless, she had made a serious mistake by omitting to say she wanted to live those years in eternal youth. Sibyl and Apollo loved each other very much; she chose Cuma, an ancient city near Naples, to retire and practice the art of divination, but over the years she became older and smaller, consuming herself until only a voice remained in an ampoule, continuing to spread her prophecies. The figure of the Sibyl has inspired artists of all ages, and contemporaries have not been outdone. The suite houses three works dedicated to this fascinating figure: Stefano Mango's photograph takes guests to the house of the Sibyl, in the famous "cave" of ancient Cuma. Rosy Rox and Danilo Ambrosino express the visionary's appearance in a very different way, the first through the photographic technique, the second by integrating enamel and gold leaf.
